A Library in the Back Bay
This studio project was completed Fall 2010, my senior year at Massachusetts College of Art & Design.
At the time, Autodesk had just released their free Solar Analysis toolset with Project Vasari. I used the new software to look at preliminary design of the building massing, studying relationships to the existing fabric of the Back Bay and the effects of surrounding buildings on solar exposure. The analytical results, paired with more subjective analysis of Newbury Street, helped guide my design.
In the 2011 MassArt All School Show this final presentation board won first prize for Architectural Design.
